Unity of the Sierra Joyously Shares Space with St. Peters Episcopal Church:
In the journey of finding a new home for Unity of the Sierra, we have had the wonderful opportunity to experience the warmth and generosity of our area’s interfaith community. The Center for Spiritual Living welcomed us with open hearts into their center where we’ve been privileged to offer Friday night services this past two months. Now, our adventurous journey has led us to an historical setting from which to teach and learn Unity principles - St. Peters Episcopal Church. As of April 1st, Unity will have space for an office, classes, sanctuary, fellowship, and more. Our first service is Friday, April 5th at 7:00 PM at St. Peters, located at 314 North Division Street.
Peace,
Rev. Larry
Sacred Conversations on End-of-Life Issues: All who would like to participate in an open and confidential discussion about a myriad of end-of-life topics are invited to attend this event, which promises to provide interesting insights into the life transition we call death. In general, Americans have deep fears of death, and our goal is to help us become more comfortable with death in our culture. We are breaking new ground with this type of offering in Carson City, and we hope to make it an ongoing opportunity for learning and sharing.
Moderated by Paula Schneider and Laurie Jain, two local registered nurses with 15 combined years of hospice experience, our morning together will be led by participants who wish to explore and share life experiences around death and dying. Please join us Saturday, May 25th from 10 am to 12 noon for discussion and snacks. There is no fee and this event is not affiliated with any religion or theology. We meet at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church rectory (small house with bay window) at the corner of Division and Proctor.
Saturday, May 25th and Sunday May 26th from 1-5pm each day in the Rectory. Rev. Larry explores and answers questions such as: What is Unity? How did Unity start? What is New Thought? What does Unity teach about God, the Bible, sin & evil, Jesus, and more? This class may be taken for information; however, it is required for anyone wishing to join as a member of Unity of the Sierra
